Knifesmith Gallery – and Knifesmith Ltd – can be found towards the top of the Christmas Steps at number 11.
The historic Christmas Steps themselves lead down from the junction of Colston Street and Lower Park Row, a five minute walk from both the Centre and the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI) and ten minutes walk from the new Cabot Circus development. There is metered on-street parking on Colston St and Lower Park Row as well as a larger car park in Trenchard Street.
By Train: To Bristol Temple Meads... a 15 minute walk via St Mary Redcliffe and Queens Square to the centre.. or take a number 8 or 9 bus from outside the station to the Centre. There is also a taxi rank at Temple Meads – expect a 10 minute ride through a busy shopping area to get to the Christmas Steps/Colston Street.
The gallery is normally open 11am - 6pm Tuesday to Saturday. If you are making a special journey to see a particular exhibition email or call in advance - 0117 927 7749 - to make sure we will be open. We can often accommodate visits to the gallery outside normal times. Please call to see if we can make you an appointment.
